S is for... Somebody once told me

So, a while ago, 4th February 2019 to be exact. I got a suggestion through to write about 'Somebody once told me'.

It was from someone called, Shrek.

Firstly, let us indulge.

A banger. An absolute banger. I was never really much of a Smash Mouth fan growing up. I never bought any of their stuff, but if it came on I was happy enough that it was on. 'Walkin' On The Sun' I think is class, and I love the film BASEketball; so, I'm a big fan of their version of 'Why Can't WE Be Friends?'

Where do I go from here?

The thing that comes to my mind is this. Somebody once told me...that chinchillas could fly. I think I was probably at school and some guest speaker brought one in, said they could fly and got the chinchilla to do something like in the video below. (Nice video by the way from Kyle Stark!) Because without it, I just sound mental!

A few years later I'm having a conversation with friends and I bring it up. This soon turns into an argument about whether or not chinchillas can fly. Seeing as I was being made to/making myself (it all depends on perspective here people)/feeling, let's go with feeling - in this instance both parties are responsible - since I was feeling pretty dumb I got defensive and was amendment that I was right. How old was I? I'm no idea, let's say... 15/16. Which is a safe bet I think because we only became friends around that time.

Anyway, no...apparently they can't fly. I'm a pretty big definitions kind of person, but can't really be bothered to get into it today. I just wanted to pow out a blog post. HOWEVER, what chinchillas can do - I was today years old when I discovered this - IS - something called popcorning. Yeah, you didn't know too? You're welcome.

Don't believe everything you hear people. One reason being, sometimes it's too good to be true. Chinchillas cannot fly. It hurts me too. It still hurts and always will.

Obviously I've had a whole bunch of people give me advice over the years, or tell me stuff or tell me things that someone once said. And it's all cool. But I guess what it makes me think of is that - there is so much more going on that just what someone once said. I try to remember that. It's only a small part of the big picture.

Who doesn't love a good quote?
